A colourful kite festival is scheduled to open in Danang city on August 27-28 as part of activities to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

The kite festival is expected to attract kite clubs from Hue, Hoi An, HCM City and Da Nang, which will introduce their colourful and unique kites to visitors at My Khe beach, Son Tra district, Da Nang city.

Diverse cultural and tourism activities will take place during the festival including kite and lantern decoration and sand paintings on recycled tyres hosted by young artists from Da Nang fine arts club. Visitors and residents can also participate in interesting folk games such as walking on stilts.
