Opening time of check-in counter

  • International flights: 03 hours before STD.
  • Domestic flights: 02 hours before STD.

Closing time of check-in counter

  • International flights: 50 minutes before STD.
  • Domestic flights: 40 minutes before STD.

*STD: Scheduled Time of Departure.

Process procedures for domestic flights

Preparation

Passengers on domestic flights are to present:

  • Foreigners: passports
  • Vietnamese: one of the following documents is accepted for carriage :
  • Passport (at least 6-month valid).
  • ID card ( in case of loss, there should be Comfirmation Letter of the local police where passenger lives within certain time).
  • Military card.
  • National Assembly member card.
  • Communist Party member card.
  • Journalist card.
  • Driving license;
  • Airport Pass;
  • Employee card issued by Vietnam Airlines;

Passengers who are children traveling on domestic flights must comply with the following regulations:

  • Children under 12 must have birth certificate.
  • Babies under 1 month must have notice of birth in case without birth certificate.
  • Children grown up by social organizations must have certificates of those ones, which are 6-month valid from date of validating.
  • Children under 1 traveling alone on domestic flights, besides required documents must have commitment of parents or guardians. Passengers are required to book in advance and must be agreed by airlines.

Passengers’ travel documents must:

  • Be used for the right person and be valid.
  • Have stamps on photos ( except birth certificate and notice of birth).

Flight formality

  • Checking in at check-in counters.
  • Passing through security checkpoint.
  • Getting to waiting area.
  • Proceeding to boarding gate at boarding time.

Reference

  • Dangerous items (including all kinds of knives, swords, cudgels….) are only accepted in checked baggage except for those items bought at airport duty free shops.
  • Each passenger is only allowed 1 liter of liquid. The capacity of container does not exceed 100ml. Containers must be put in transparent plastic bags for security check or screening through X-ray machine if necessary.

Departure procedure for international flights:

Preparation

Passengers on international flights are required to present:

  • Tickets.
  • Valid passports.
  • Visas.

Passengers’ travel documents must:

  • Be used for the right person and be valid.
  • Have stamps on photos ( except birth certificate and notice of birth ).
Flight formality
  • Presenting ticket and travel document to security officers before entering the terminal.
  • Checking in at check-in counters.
  • Passing through customs and security checkpoint.
  • Passing through immigration counter.
  • Getting to waiting area.
  • Proceeding to boarding gate at boarding time.
